She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, square dancing and was a proud member of the Shooting Stars Dance Club. Mary’s Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Russell Council of Catholic Women. Upon moving to Russell in 2002, she was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Christians Mothers in Herndon, KS. While her boys were in college, she worked for the local IGA Grocery store in Herndon and for Gwen’s Plumbing & Heating in Oberlin. ![]() Early in life, she worked in the post office in Herndon. Joann was a devoted wife and homemaker for her children. Tim preceded her in death on September 28, 1986. This union was blessed with five children: Jerry, Rosalie, Nancy, John, and James. They divorced, and later she met and was united in marriage to Francis Gerald “Tim” Malone on November 28, 1950. She was a graduate of Herndon High School in the Class of ‘47. She attended over eight years in rural country schools. She was one of eight children born to John and Emma (Keplinger) Huss. Joann was born December 21, 1929, on the family farm 5 miles west of Herndon, Kansas. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.Joann Marie (Huss) Malone, 93, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Any donations to help with funeral expenses can be given directly to the mortuary and made payable to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary * 610 N. Cremation has been chosen and there will be no internment at this time. When the date, time, and location of this event are decided, they will be announced by both the mortuary and family. At a later, warmer date, a larger celebration of life event will take place outdoors. to sign the guest book, visit with the family, pay respects, and view memory boards. There will be a gathering at Pohlman Varner Peeler Mortuary on Friday, Apfrom 5 p.m. He is survived by his mother, Vickie Frost (Leonard Boese) of Susank, KS his father, Gerald Frost of Russell, KS his daughter, Kenlee Peterson, and his son, Jaxon Casper, both of Russell, KS his sister, Amanda Fabian Valadez (Enoe) of Russell, KS his sister, Amber Frost of Lawrence, KS his brothers Shane Michaelis and Ethan Frost (Justus), both of Russell, KS his many beloved nieces and nephews: Braden, Gianna, Arya, Isabella, Briley, Haven, Zane, Nevaeh, Alieah, Matteo, Little Ethan, Ryker, Valencia, and Xavier and by many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. ![]() He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Dakota his paternal and maternal grandparents three uncles two aunts and a niece. His family, daughter, and close friends meant everything to him and are the reason he stayed on Earth as long as he did. He would do anything for anyone and was selfless to a fault. ![]() His big smile, loving hugs, and great sense of humor would make anyone’s day better. Dalton never knew a stranger because anyone he met automatically became his friend. His daughter, Kenlee, was his world and he did anything and everything he could for her. He loved cracking open a cold one and shooting the breeze with his friends and family. There wasn’t a mechanical issue that he couldn’t solve or a tool he couldn’t reinvent to get the job done. He loved being in the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, going to the lake, or just driving on country roads for hours. He was one of the hardest workers anyone ever knew.ĭalton and his twin were daredevils from the start and lived life at full speed. His adult life was spent mainly in Colorado and Russell working in the fencing business and in several different areas in the oilfield. His childhood and school years were spent spread between Salina, Russell, and Natoma, KS. Dalton Lynn Frost, 30, passed away on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 at his home in Gorham, KS.ĭalton and his identical twin brother, Dakota, were born on September 16th, 1992, in Hays, KS to Gerald and Vickie Frost.
